Southwark is a dynamic, youthful and diverse borough in the heart of London. Children and young people make up a significant proportion of our population, with around 70,000 residents aged 19 or under and 66% of our children and young people are from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds. Despite challenging financial times, we remain absolutely committed to helping our children and young people to be happy, healthy, active, safe and prepared for the future.

Southwark is an amazing place to grow up, with a huge range of activities and places to places for young people to go, from libraries to events and support for arts and drama as well as activities in our parks and playgrounds, leisure centres, sports and youths clubs, as well as services provided by a range of voluntary and community organisations. We have just launched our new Activities for Children and Young People strategy 2017 - 2020 and following a restructure of the service are looking to recruit enthusiastic, highly motivated, committed people to seem key new roles.
