An exciting opportunity to join a newly formed Intensive Outreach Support service in Torbay.
The successful candidate will have a background in education, social care or mental health. You will be joining a well-regarded, effective team of outreach workers. This team aims to support mainstream schools by coaching and upskilling staff to work with children who display complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties. A significant part of this role is to work closely with the families and in particular a key attachment adult in the home. A primary aim of the team is to reduce exclusions and enable children to thrive in a mainstream environment.
The successful candidate will provide intensive support to schools and school leaders to bring about cultural change and develop best practice. It is essential that this work is fully reflected in case notes and reports. The effectiveness of the service is monitored by the local authority.
