Youth Support Co-ordinator
We are recruiting to the post of Teenage Cancer Trust Youth Support Co-ordinator within the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) service based at The Christie hospital, Manchester. The post-holder will be an enthusiastic and experienced individual that can support young people and further develop the range of services and support offered.
You will provide psychosocial and recreational support to young people up to the age of 25 who have a cancer diagnosis, as part of a wider team of health and social care professionals; therefore, you will have excellent communication skills, will be resourceful and creative and will be confident at working independently with young people in a hospital setting.
In order to meet the needs of young people, you will need a flexible approach; there will be the requirement to work some evenings, weekends and overnight residentials.
The post will work closely with the established YSC team, TYA Lead Nurse and Teenage Cancer Trust staff in other units. Work will be based at The Christie but may involve travel and work in other hospitals and home-visits to patients in an outreach capacity.
