Youth Development Manager
The National Deaf Children’s Society is the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.
35 hours per week
Being a teenager can be a challenging time for anyone, but for deaf young people it is vital that they receive the right information, support and opportunities to develop into independent adults.
National Deaf Children’s Society has worked directly to engage this age group via consultation, young volunteering, deaf role models, apprenticeships and our Youth Advisory board to influence how we can improve opportunities for Deaf young people aged 14-25.
Our 2017-22 strategy has ambitious plans. We want deaf young people to have high aspirations and will support them to achieve this with digital resources, information and opportunities to enable them to create better futures. We will also develop a cohesive ‘Deaf-friendly’ offer of resources and support for our partners, enabling youth services and providers to become more accessible and inclusive for deaf young people.
The Youth Development Manager has an important role in the Children, Young People and Partnership team. You will have a large role to play in helping us to design and deliver our offer. You will continue our ability to learn with young people, innovate and inspire wider stakeholders, and deliver and manage our Post 14 areas of work.
We are looking to recruit an ambitious, creative individual with a strong background in transitions and youth work to help us continue to make a big difference to the lives of deaf young people. Are you this special person?
