Youth Campaigns and Accountability Officer
Join Save the Children as a Youth Campaigns and Accountability Officer and you will lead the development of our new powerful Young Leaders network; supporting their critical role in our policy, advocacy and campaigns, media and fundraising work and helping them develop skills and confidence for work and life.
We believe that children and young people can, and must, play a crucial role in ending child poverty in the UK – and in this role, you’ll support them to make it happen.
Playing a key role in developing and implementing our new work, you will support young people in the poorest communities and facing the biggest challenges to engage in all aspects of our work and help us achieve our objectives both in Scotland, the north of England or Northern Ireland and across the UK.
In addition, your remit will involve representing us to external contacts, building networks across the UK and being an internal and external champion for participation and accountability.
You’ll need experience of working directly with young people, supporting deprived communities to engage in and take action on issues relating to poverty and education, including through campaigning, policy, media and fundraising.
You will also have a good understanding of the government and public sector structures relevant to children and young people in Scotland, the north of England or Northern Ireland and across the UK.
Save the Children works in more than 120 countries. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfil their potential.
Closing date: Monday 2nd April 2012.
