Job title: Deputy/SENCo

Location: Fortune Green Playcentre, Fortune Green Road, London, NW6 1DR

Salary: £26,625 (pro-rata), £16,129 (actual) per annum

Reporting to: Playcentre Manager

Responsible for: Playworkers, sessional staff, volunteers, interns and placement workers

Annual Leave: 28 days per annum (including public holidays) pro-rata

Hours: 17.5 hours per week term-time (41 weeks per annum) + 35 hours per week during school holidays (11 weeks per annum).

In accordance to your job role as deputy SENCo you will also be required to work some weekends as part of the extended play offer.

Key Purpose and context:

The Deputy/SENCo will contribute to the management of the day-to-day operations of Out of School Childcare & Play services and to fulfil the role of named SENCo for the setting. Your responsibilities will be to work in partnership with the Playcentre Manager to create and retain a happy and committed staff team, lead them in delivering high quality play services that promote the children’s health and well-being, and assist in development of new projects and services. As a key member of the management team at the setting, you will work effectively with stakeholders and develop positive relationships with parents/carers.

PACE is a user-led, grass-roots charity founded in 2011 by a group of parents and play work professionals in Camden to establish high quality inclusive play services in the borough. We now operate a range of services for children aged 2-18 years. We enjoy strong links within the local community and employ a highly experienced, expert staff team.
