Salary: £15,839 Pro-Rata

Location - Based from Ashington Children's Centre, Northumberland, Working across all services within the Locality.

Permanent Part-Time working 18.5 hours a week

What is the role?

Northumberland Children's Centres offer a one-stop shop for Children under 5 and their families and it is a vital part of our work. As a Children's Services Assistant, you will be working in our Northumberland Central Locality Cluster. Your role will be to initiate, involve and maintain participation and involvement of local parents/carers in all aspects of the Service.

You'll significantly improve young people's lives:

  • By promoting the Children's Centres services and activities
  • By carrying out introductory appointments with families, complete registration forms and promote Children's Centre services
  • By planning & co-deliver activities with staff team (including volunteers) in the Children's Centres and in the community
  • By delivering sensory induction as required
  • Undertaking risk assessments to ensure a safe and secure environment for service delivery
  • Working with families, individuals or in groups to build self-esteem, confidence and ability to develop strategies to help their child's speech and language skills
  • To develop and maintain links with community groups across the locality
  • To provide information to management to support collection of data for evaluation of services.

 


The person

What you will need?

To have experience of working with families and young children

To have experience of working with/in the community

To have experience in supporting a child's development.

NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education or working towards
