Through our Children’s Centre and in partnership with many other exciting local initiatives, we deliver early year’s education and integrated services across Hackney and you can help us build on this potential.

We are looking to appoint a Children’s Centre Teacher to work in our vibrant and innovative Children’s Centres and join our outstanding team to improve the outcomes for children in Hackney. Your role will be to help us achieve a safe, healthy and stimulating environment where activities enable children to grow and develop in line with good practice standards. As an excellent communicator, you will need to be enthusiastic and committed to raising standards. This role will initially be based at Ann Tayler Children’s Centre but has potential to work alongside other Centres. Hackney has a Forest School based in one of the Children’s Centres and many exciting opportunities for professional development.

We believe that every child is unique and born with their own creative potential. We aim to support our diverse community of children and families to achieve their aspirations and we work in partnership with a range of services, to provide a welcoming, safe and open environment.

This is ideal position for an experienced professionals looking to embed their Early Years understanding and develop new projects and ideas linked to outcomes and research. Significant professional experience of working within a culturally diverse educational childcare environment or school is essential. You must have good interpersonal and relationship building skills and possess good assessment skills.

You must have excellent knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop from birth to five and be able to take the lead for the improvement of quality in the Early Years Foundation Stage in the Children’s Centre.  You will lead on embedding the principles underpinning good practice in the early years where parents, carers, centre staff and outreach services work in partnership to improve outcomes for children and families across the cluster.

You must hold QTS and post qualifying experience in teaching 3 – 5 year olds.
