OASIS YOUTH & FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER (OASIS HUB HADLEY)

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract

Are you looking to make a positive difference to London’s young people and their families, whose lives have been affected by violence?  

As a community charity, Oasis’s local hubs encompass a variety of integrated and diverse community projects which together have a common aim to bring transformation to the whole person and the whole community.  

Oasis Hub Hadley, in partnership service with North Middlesex Hospital A&E department, is seeking a committed and passionate Youth & Family Support Worker to offer dedicated support young people and their families who attend North Middlesex Hospital A&E department due to a violent or aggressive incident.  The immediacy of the support offered requires the postholder to be a physical presence at the hospital and work as part of the local Enfield community in North London.

Duties will include:

• Offering intensive support to young people and their families affected by violence.

• Providing accessible one to one and mentoring sessions for young persons.

• Work with the families to address the problems they are facing, build confidence as parents and build better family relationships.

• Build the capacity of A&E staff in dealing with families involved with violence.

• Utilising monitoring and evaluating tools to measure impact and progress.

You will be supported by the Youth Support Project Coordinator who is also based at the hospital, as well as being part of the wider Oasis Hub Hadley team.  You could be successful in this role if you:  

• A relevant professional qualification (e.g. JNC, QSW, SENCo) or proven experience

• Experience of working in a youth/community setting that has been affected by crime

• Experience of delivering individual or group based support

• experience of working with statutory/voluntary agencies in a community setting
