Are you a positive leader, looking to use your skills and experience to inspire a community that families want to be part of and that they can learn to contribute too?

Enact, in partnership with Oasis Community Partnerships, have a vacancy for a self-motivated and committed Children & Families Development Worker to lead clubs, activities and training for local children and parents in the Enfield community.

Enfield Island Youth & Community Trust, branded locally as ‘enact.community’, is a charity (No. 1109131) set up to encourage and strengthen a great local community. Enact have received a three year grant from The National Lottery to ‘Create opportunities for Children and Families’.  The grant enables us to develop our existing established activities and support for children aged 0-11, their immediate families and the wider community.

This is a newly formed role and the tasks involved are varied and interesting.  Our new team member will be a great all-rounder, an inspiring and enthusiastic practitioner:

  • You will work across the age-spectrum but specialise in working with children and parents.
  • You will work in community and schools-based settings, 1-2-1 and group work, holiday activities and residentials.
  • You will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of support for children and parents.
  • You will develop a team of sessional staff and volunteers to help you deliver activities.
  • You will present our work to Trustees, local and national stakeholders, other relevant agencies and Funders in order to increase the resources available to the community.

You could be successful in this role if you:

  • Have a relevant professional qualification (e.g. JNC, QTS, QSW or NVQ Level 3) or can demonstrate qualification by experience.
  • Can successfully co-create projects with families, young people and wider community.
  • Have a proven record of leadership in community development or school projects.
  • Have proven experience of managing volunteers of all ages.

In return, Oasis and EIYCT can offer:

  • Flexible working practices and family friendly policies.
  • A supportive network and family of staff in a motivating working environment.
  • A non-contributory defined benefit pension scheme with 7% employer contributions.
  • 25 days holiday per year (plus Bank Holidays), rising to 30 days after 2 years of service.
  • A Long Service Award Program that includes one month paid sabbatical after 6 years of service.

Oasis is committed to making a difference to the lives of the communities it works in. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.

To Apply, please download the application and equality form and submit to recruitment@oasisuk.org

If you have any questions about the role, please contact the Oasis UK Recruitment Team on recruitment@oasisuk.org or call 0207 921 4259.

Closing date for completed applications - Noon Thursday 2nd May 2019.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 14th May, with second interviews on Thursday 16th or 23rd May in Enfield, North London.
