Family Support Worker

Location - Weymouth, Dorset

Salary - £20,100 per annum

Contract - Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2020

This post is coordinating and directing the support to children, young people and families by agreeing and providing interventions and enabling positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements



The role?
  • Providing a high quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need
  • Delivering a complex and specialist interventions with children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis
  • Conducting home visits
  • Providing lead case/care planning management, including undertaking assessing, reviewing and managing risks
  • Attending and participating at relevant multi agency meetings, providing a lead role ensuring reflective and analytical practice review
  • Being responsible for day to day resource planning to ensure high quality services are delivered.
  • Establishing and developing effective relationships and channels of communication with children, young people, families, colleagues, community organisations, partner agencies and other external agencies
  • Retaining accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems to capture information and to produce written reports and present these as necessary.




The person?
  • NVQ Level 3/HNC in social care or equivalent
  • Experienced in 1:1 family support
  • Experience of whole family work
  • Experience of delivering Early Help
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of safeguarding children
  • Able to demonstrate experience of collaboratively with other professionals
  • Experience of delivering a parenting programme (desirable)
  • Driver with access to own vehicle
  • Good IT skills
