Youth Worker

Employer
Oxford City Council
Location
Oxford, Oxfordshire
Salary
£25,307 to £27,125 per annum
Closing date

Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference to the lives of young people in our community? We need someone with a passion for helping others, who wants to assist young, disadvantaged people to achieve their potential.

You will plan, deliver and evaluate projects in which young people develop their skills, knowledge and capabilities in key areas that support their transition into adulthood, including wellbeing, employability and communication.  The successful candidate will lead the delivery of a number of youth-led activities, including youth clubs, multi-sports sessions, holiday schemes and mentoring programmes.  The young people you will work with are between the ages of 11-19 (occasionally up to 25).

We asked some of the people involved in previous projects what skills, experience and character they would like the Youth Worker to have. They said the ideal candidate should have a friendly, fun and happy personality and previous experience of working with children and young people.  So if that sounds like you, and you want to be part of a Youth Ambition Team that deliver an award winning programme of activities to help better the lives of young people in Oxford, then we really want to hear from you.

The City Council is totally committed to having a workforce that reflects the diverse local community it serves. We particularly welcome applicants from the BAME communities who are currently under-represented across the organisation.
