We are a vibrant, local charity that has been serving the local community for over 130 years through inclusive programmes in health & wellbeing, childcare, housing and youth work. We are passionate about providing opportunities to those   who are the most in need.

YMCA Thames Gateway is looking for 2 Youth Work Assistants who will support and promote our programmes at the Youth Zone in Woolwich. You will encourage, inspire and welcome young people aged 13-19 into a safe place for them to meet their friends, develop their skills and interests whilst assisting in positive activities for the group.

We are looking for candidates who are committed, creative and passionate about delivering youth work to young people. You will need to be highly motivated and have the ability to communicate and engage effectively with young people. This is a new project in the urban area of Woolwich where you will have the opportunity to make a difference to young people’s lives.

If you are on the search to start your career in Youth Work, or you are currently studying towards a Youth Work qualification and have substantial experience of working directly with young people, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Job Details:

• Location – YMCA Thames Gateway, Antelope Rd, Woolwich, SE18 5QG
• Hours – Flexible between 8-18 hours per week depending on candidates availabilit
• Rate of pay - £10 per hour & competitive benefits
