YMCA London South West and YMCA East London have recently merged. The new organisation has a growing presence across South, South West and East London delivering a range of activities and services to the community. The Association is part of the affiliated YMCA Christian Movement, offering opportunities to young people and their communities to develop in mind, body and spirit in order to fulfill their potential.  

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the organisation for an Area Children and Families Manager to join our team to oversee the day to day running of all Children’s and Families services within the local area, including management of staff and volunteers within the service.  The role will ensure the delivery of high quality childcare services to children and their families in line with the organisational vision and business plan.  The area currently incorporates services delivered across 4 centres.

The role will entail working with the Strategic Lead for Children, Youth and Families and the Area Director to ensure that the local Children & Families services meet the strategic aims and objectives of the organisational business plan. It will also include seeking business opportunities within the local area and managing their implementation and regulatory requirements.

It is also expected that the successful candidate will undertake an operational review of the department, developing and implementing plans to address systems of management of each function, understanding and achieving strategic objectives, improvement of quality of services, and customer care identifying growth opportunities.

The successful candidate will hold NNEB or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Children/Early Years/ Play Work, in depth knowledge of OFSTED requirements and inspections, Knowledge of Child Protection and Safer Recruitment, First Aid Certificate, Experience of setting up ‘Under 12’ activities and budget management.
