A key priority for the Children, Young People and Learning Directorate in Sutton is to ensure the highest possible focus on safeguarding of children and young people in the borough. This post will play a significant part in helping us to achieve that priority by working as the education representative in a new team that we are establishing at our Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). You will also be the crucial first point of contact for staff in our schools, who have concerns about the safety and well being of any child attending a Sutton school.

We are looking to appoint an individual who has excellent knowledge of current legislation and guidance relating to child protection and safeguarding and a good level of experience of working in these fields. We also need someone who works well in a team but has the confidence to take the initiative and give clear advice when it is sought.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on Friday 16th November 2012
Interviews: 27th November 2012
