We are currently looking to recruit an Education Officer - Sexual Exploitation to develop capacity within the Community Youth Teams (CYT) to deliver the early intervention and prevention arm of the emerging city-wide Sexual Exploitation Strategy; and build capacity within the Youth Justice Service around sexual exploitation. They will design, deliver and evaluate targeted programmes around sexual exploitation, which supports the delivery of the CYT / Youth Justice Service (YJS) workforce development plans and enable CYT’s to deliver the early intervention and prevention element of the City’s Sexual Exploitation Strategy.

The post holder will carry out an audit of the current knowledge, skills and practice of CYT/YJS staff in relation to sexual exploitation and develop and deliver a programme which develops their skills and knowledge in this area, to ensure staff are appropriately trained and resourced to deliver the programme. They will produce communications and promotional material for the sexual exploitation element of the CYT offer. They will develop activities, materials and delivery methods to ensure the programme continues to meet the employer and young people’s needs, as well as quality standards, and build and manage targeted programme resource bank/toolkit for CYTs and the YJS.

The post will report directly to the Sexual Exploitation Service Manager and will work closely with the CYT and YJS Service Managers.

The successful candidate will have knowledge achieved through a relevant professional qualification and significant and substantial experience in work with young people including working with sexually exploited young people. You will be confident working with both groups and individual staff members and young people and the ability to engage and motivate others. You will have experience of delivering accredited learning programmes and be committed to the successful implementation of integrated / multi agency working.

You will hold relevant professional qualification. For example, Level 3 youth work qualification or above or working towards a level 4 youth work qualification (BA, FD or Dip HE); Diploma in Social Work etc, and a recognised teaching / training qualification (PTLLS, PGCE).
