Youth Worker

Part time 16 hours per week, (6-12 months Maternity Cover) - £9.62 per hour
West London YMCA’s mission is developing opportunities that transform young lives. Our Hayes Youth Centre offers social, educational and fitness activities for young people. As a youth worker you will creatively plan and deliver weekly outreach sessions as well as 2 weekend residential trips and 2 community events, using a variety of approaches to engage with young people aged 16 to 25 from diaspora communities. Your role will also involve assisting in the recruitment and supervision of volunteers for the project.
To succeed you will have a previous background in education or youth work, and have an understanding of the issues facing young people. As well as possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be able to plan and organise and wide range of activities alone and within a team, and be able to work to tight deadlines.
