York Children’s Centre’s are seeking three experienced Children’s Centre leaders who will lead the day to day delivery of the children’s centre services within the city.
The successful candidate will manage the front line delivery of the services agreed in each Centre’s Priority Plans and SEF (Self Evaluation Form), ensuring effective communication, performance management and co-ordination of services between the Centre, parents, children and other professionals.
The postholder will manage services to families from the Children’s Centre, through an appropriate mix of universal and targeted provision, in accordance with national and local guidance and in response to identified local need. They will manage integrated early intervention services, in order to improve outcomes for children and their families.
We are looking for someone who can lead a team in holding cases and providing individual family support and early intervention and can also hold their own caseload of early intervention family support cases in addition to undertaking some community development and/or group work
The ideal candidate will have considerable post qualification experience, including experience of staff supervision and considerable recent experience of managing provision for children under 5 and families, including staff management responsibilities, experience of leading multi-agency partnership working and a sound knowledge of child development theory and its practical application in support of parents
Applicants will need a professional qualification at degree level or equivalent in a field relevant to work with children and families (e.g. social work, teaching, health care, youth and community work, or a related social care field). In addition possession of, or willingness to work towards NPQICL (National Professional Qualification in Integrated Centre Leadership) at postgraduate certificate level.
