Use your research expertise to make a difference

The Dartington Hall Trust is a pioneering charity − a place of experiment, enterprise, and education where the arts, social justice and sustainability come together. Research in Practice (RiP) and Research in Practice for Adults (RiPfA) are enterprises within our Social Justice programme. RiP and RiPfA work with clients across children’s services and adult health and social care, supporting them to develop an evidence-informed approach to their work. Our focus is on using evidence from research and practice to improve practice, policy and services in order to achieve positive outcomes for people of all ages.

We are looking for ambitious individuals (including freelance staff) to join our team and help us build on our excellent reputation for delivering high quality services and resources.
About the role

As a Research Officer, you will provide RiP customers and colleagues with support around research activity. It involves answering research queries, conducting evidence scopes and contributing to the development of evidence-informed products and resources. You will ensure that colleagues have expert guidance on research-related matters as well as delivering direct support to customers. You will also help us to deliver our diversification strategy, as we grow our business.
About you

With a relevant degree (or equivalent) and experience in a similar role, you will be an organised, positive and IT-literate professional. You have good grasp of research methods, the principles of evidence-informed practice and children’s services. Furthermore, you have provided support for research methods and design before, as well as having experience of supporting organisational development. Articulate and used to collaborative working, you will have the communication skills to inspire, influence and engage others. Above all, you share our passion for helping others to use evidence to improve the lives of children and families.
