Sheffield Futures is a dynamic, independent charity, supporting communities and helping young people, particularly the vulnerable, to achieve their full potential in learning, employment and life.
We are currently seeking a Community Youth Team Manager to manage the newly formed Community Youth Teams (CYTs) in Sheffield. CYTs are integrated community based youth support teams, providing 1:1 support, group work programmes, targeted youth provision, street based teams and detached youth work. CYTs aim to ensure all agencies work together to support young people and help them on the path to success.
The post holder will operationally manage the Community Youth Team and be responsible for the operational supervision of Community Youth Team staff, in order to ensure that vulnerable young people are assessed and supported to make successful transitions into adult life.
You will maximise opportunities for interagency and multi-disciplinary work in conjunction with other voluntary and statutory agencies and across professional boundaries.
You will ensure the quality of work and service meets performance targets as set out in plans and staff meet requirements outlined within national and local Standards and within individual appraisals.
The successful candidate will have a professional knowledge achieved through a relevant professional qualification and a minimum of three years post qualification experience of work with young people in a range of different settings. You will have experience of interagency and multi-disciplinary working and the ability and commitment to secure the engagement of a wide range of organisations in partnership development. Experience of managing people from a range of backgrounds in a community setting is essential along with the ability to motivate and lead staff. Strong financial management and people management experience, with a knowledge of HR processes is essential.
