The National Youth Agency, the leading youth work charity, is recruiting a National Programme Manager to lead and manage the workforce function of the NYA. This includes leadership of the professional validation programme and support to the Education and Training Standards Committee. The individual will work with partners to secure their engagement in workforce issues ensuring the Agency has robust strategic direction and operational performance in line with best practice and the Agency’s overall strategic direction.

The NYA plays a central role in maintaining and developing workforce standards for youth work. The Education and Training Standards Committee is a sub-committee of the Board charged with the Agency's responsibility for workforce. ETS sets youth work standards in consultation with the field and key stakeholders and then runs an annual programme of Higher Education youth work course validations. The ETS committee also oversees major developments such as the development of a professional body for youth work and a potential standards review. The National Programme Manager for workforce plays a central role in guiding the Committee and the Agency as a whole on workforce issues and ensures regular engagement with the field and other stakeholders.

To succeed, you will hold a JNC recognised qualification in youth work as well as formal project or programme management training. You will have previous experience in managing and delivering projects / programmes for young people and an excellent understanding of current youth policy and practice. You should also understand the nature of good customer relations and be able to deliver this to our partners.

This role can be based at home however the successful candidate will be required to attend the Leicester office for at least 2 days per week. Some travel within the UK will be required. Secondments will be considered
