Coventry City Council in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (Coventry CAMHS) has been awarded funding from Department of Health to set up a Multi Systemic Therapy (MST) team and is seeking 3 MST Therapists to deliver MST interventions and be part of this exciting new development.
MST is a family and home based treatment, providing targeted support to young people aged 11-17 and their families at risk of coming into care and of receiving a custodial sentence as part of the criminal justice system. The MST model is based on the philosophy that the most effective and ethical route to help children and youth is through helping their families and striving to change how youth function at home, at school, and in the neighbourhood. Further information on MST is available from the website www.mstservices.com
The MST Therapist will work as part of a small team to deliver comprehensive (24/7) MST interventions which address the behaviour of individual young people within a family and community based setting. Each MST Therapist will have a small caseload of approximately 5 families and will work under the close supervision and instruction of the MST Supervisor to ensure adherence to the MST treatment model.
The appointed post holder will receive training in MST and there will be close links with other MST teams nationally for advice and support. There is also an MST consultant that provides on going skills training and consultation to the team. The post holder will be accountable directly to the MST Supervisor and Operational Manager.
Closing date: 20th April 2012
Interested candidates are requested to note the following interview dates:
15th May 2012 (stage 1 interview process) and 17th May 2012 (stage 2 interview process for those successful at the end of stage 1).
