Head of Children's Care Services / Head of Children’s Assessment & Early Help

We are seeking to recruit 2 Heads of Services with drive and ambition who will be responsible for social care and prevention but who will also play a full part in the development of all aspects of Children's Services. The salaries for these posts are up to £64,406 dependent on experience
Head of Children’s Care Services
This post will be part of the senior leadership team in Children’s Safeguarding and will be responsible for the oversight, and leadership of all in house care services for children looked after. This includes Fostering, Adoption, residential care, contact service. And will be responsible for developing these businesses and establishing their place in the market. The post holder will be responsible for working in partnership with in-house commissioning service to ensure that all services are delivered in the most efficient and effective way
The post will manage a minimum of six separate but interdependent services and a budget of £2m.
Head of Children’s Assessment & Early Help
This post will be part of the senior leadership team for safeguarding and will have lead responsibility for developing the Early Help offer for vulnerable children.
This is a huge cultural shift and the post holder will be responsibly for leading the strategic development of a new service which includes negotiation with partner agencies to integrate a range of services into an integrated local delivery service.
The post will manage a minimum of seven separate but interdependent services and a budget of £2.5m
To lead these services you need to be experienced, dedicated and most importantly passionate about the Safeguarding of children/young people.
The Head of Children’s Assessment and Early Help will require a recognised and relevant professional qualification. Eg Health qualification, teaching, etc . The Head of Children’s Care Services will require a social work qualification. Both will require in depth knowledge of multi-agency working within a complex children’s services environment.
