This is a exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving the lives and futures of children and foster carers in Coventry.
KEEP has been designed to positively improve the parenting skills and confidence of kinship and foster carers with children aged 5 – 12 in their care. Its run as a support group, delivered in 90 minute segments over 16 weeks.
KEEP has a track record of success in other areas where it’s been implemented. It’s led to significant reductions in the number of disruptive and care placements, and increases in positive outcomes such as reunification and adoption. Further information on KEEP is available at www.mtfce.org.uk/keep
You’ll provide vital support to the Lead Facilitator and Development Officer in the development, delivery and evaluation of KEEP in Coventry - from overseeing facilities to undertaking deputising duties. Working a flexible 2-day week, you may be required to work outside office hours and travel to follow-up home visits. Naturally, you’ll be required to take part in the 5 day KEEP training.
Working closely with the national KEEP Programme team and the Coventry Fostering Service, you’ll also develop links with other authorities in the area, and help to provide opportunities for them to develop related skills and expertise.
Actively promoting the Programme to carers, you’ll also contribute to appropriate communication with children, parents, referrers and other professional agency staff. As well as participating in teaching and training, you’ll help to prepare written materials and ensure accurate, confidential client records are kept, and you’ll support the production of awareness raising reports for various groups and bodies.
